7年前就已經封鎖了的女子學院舊館。傳說曾經有一個魔女，消失在了過去迴盪著優美鐘聲的小聖堂裡。
在被封鎖的舊館再度響起鐘聲的那一天，有一名男子的屍體被發現了。
同一天偶然聚集在此的7名男女。門打不開，他們都被關在了舊館裡面。
他們的目的是？犯人是誰？──是消失了的魔女再度現身了嗎？

謀殺之謎 (Murder mystery game)，或稱劇本殺，是十九世紀初在歐美興起的推理遊戲，
玩家各自扮演某個案件的其中一位關係人，取得自己的劇本後以第一人稱的視角在故事中進行調查與溝通。

每個玩家獲得的資訊都是有限且片面的，而在不同的視角下所得到的情報也不盡相同，
角色的劇本中更可能會有不為人知的「秘密」必須隱藏或發掘，
而透過與他人的互動、場景的探索以及資訊的整理來推導出事件的真相就是謀殺之謎的趣旨。
